Would You Take Back the Runaway Bride?

So, bug-eyed Southern belle Jennifer Wilbanks has become national news after faking her own kidnapping to avoid getting married. Now, though, she’s back and ready again for the altar. Her fiancé says he still wants her. Schmuck. But what would our cabbies do?

No. I guess I might consider it, but it would all depend on how in love with the person I was. She has to come up with a better reason than that, though. The kidnapping thing — I don’t know about that. You got one lie after another. That ought to tell you something right there. If I was younger maybe I wouldn’t even think of this shit. But I’m older now. You gotta’ get smarter as you get older. A person lies to you and that’s it. I don’t know what’s worse — a liar or a thief.

This depends on how much he loves her, and, I suppose, how much she loves him. And what guarantees will he have that she will not do such a crazy thing again? This is a very difficult situation, and both of them need to sit down and have a long talk. A very long, serious talk... You have to work hard at a relationship — especially when it is with a crazy woman!

What is this man thinking? She has humiliated the man. Why would he even consider taking her back. He is weak. He is not a man, really. Me, I am no longer married. My wife was unfaithful. Yes. She did not get another chance from me. She asked to come back after about a year. I would not even speak to her. Yes, this is a painful thing. But I am still a man. Still a man.

I haven’t heard of this case. I will be sure to look it up on the Internet. Tell me the facts: She doesn’t want to get married, or is it that she just doesn’t know what she wants? How old is she? How old is he? Both around 32? I see. Well, she has the right to say no. This is America. Up until the ceremony she has the right to say no. Maybe she really doesn’t want to be married. Or maybe she just wants to be famous, eh? You never know.

I would not. It is, after someone does something like she has done, it is impossible to know. How can he know what she will do next? What is going on in her mind? You are only going to get more trouble, I think. What if she does it again. I don’t know. It is too much trouble with her I think.

It is a very difficult question, you know. If I am satisfied that no one touched her, if she has the power to convince me that she has not been with someone else, then, ok, I guess it is alright... In India and here are very different cultures. In India it is very hard for a woman to be with a strange man. Some girls there commit suicide over this sort of thing. Do you know why she ran away in the first place? No? Maybe she had another boyfriend that she wanted to play with.
