There's lots of talk about how British newcomers Yuck are taking shoegaze to the next level, but we can't help but hear something more traditional at play in a lot of their songs. The boy-girl harmonies in "Holding Out" are borrowing a page from The Lemonheads, the vocals on "Georgia" echo Billy Corgan's controlled sneer, and "Suicide Policeman" is an acoustic weeper. That said, we're digging them. (Note: Yuck's 1/25 show was canceled due to visa issues. At the time of this writing, their show tonight is still on, but you might want to double check with the venue before venturing out.)
