Closing out the Guggenheim’s “Divine Ricochet” series (surely the best-curated music series of the spring) is a special performance from modern goth priestess, Zola Jesus. For this show, Zola (aka Nika Danilova) is collaborating with esteemed Brooklyn composer JG Thirlwell to transpose nine songs to arrangements that will be performed live by the Mivos string quartet. On record, the delicate beauty of her songs always outweighs the harsh industrial elements that underpin them, but the scales should be tipped even further towards bliss at this one-off event.
