AIA exhibition in West 4th Street Subway station

The New York chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA)—keepers and programmers of the invaluable Center for Architecture (536 LaGuardia Place)—opened their slate of fall exhibitions this week, with one show in particular standing out for its unusual setting: the walls of the West 4th Street subway station. The exhibition, New York Now, is a survey of work by chapter members currently underway throughout the city, and includes everything from the High Line to the newly re-engineered system of tunnels under Grand Central Station. Realizing that you might get yelled at for standing still too long in a narrow subway hall, the AIA also created a comprehensive online version of the exhibition. (Curbed)
