As I mentioned yesterday, P. Diddy’s fall guy in the 2001 nightclub shooting that involved Jennifer Lopez and a red-light-running limo, was expected to get out of jail on Tuesday after serving his boss’s eight year prison sentence (in exchange for, we hope, a massive but ultimately inadequate sum of money). Well, MTV News now reports that Shyne’s not done being a martyr just yet, far from it in fact: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are holding him while they review his case to determine if he should be released or deported back to Belize.
Shyne, though he repped Brooklyn in his raps, was actually born in Belize. (Fun fact: his dad is currently the prime minister of that small Central American nation.) So until further notice, “the Brooklyn MC is being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at an unspecified facility in Western New York State.” Which sucks, because we’d totally send him a care package if we knew where they were holding him.
