The Post‘s Brooklyn Blog reports that, following an announcement by Mr. Mayor yesterday, the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens will be borrowing Alexander Calder’s iconic sculpture “Le Guichet (Box Office)” (1963, pictured) for the summer, ostensibly to celebrate BK Botanical’s centenary, but also probably to make room for construction at the Manhattan culture bunker. Rich Calder (relation?) writes that the steel structure goes on view today in the Osborne Garden, and will remain there through the end of summer. Manhattan keeps on making it, Brooklyn keeps on “borrowing” it. (Brownstoner)
