Through July 31st, and including this holiday weekend, the New York Public Libary—the big branch at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street—is displaying their copy of the Declaration of Independence. This copy (pictured) was handwritten by Thomas Jefferson after July 4th, with some underlined passages differing from the document that had been ratified by the Continental Congress.

Happy America, everyone. We’ll see you later.
