Everyday you probably wake up and wonder when Brooklyn’s best white-boy reggae musician Sean Bones will star in a movie and whether that movie will be a more mature version of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist? The answer is on October 26, and yes, quite possibly, when Wah Do Dem will be available on DVD and for digital download via indie film-and-vinyl label Factory 25. Directed by Sam Fleischner and Ben Chace, it chronicles the soul-searching adventures of Max (Sean Bones), who has just been dumped by his girlfriend (Norah Jones) and is flying solo on a cruise that he had planned for the two of them. After his possessions get stolen and he misses the boat at a stop in Jamaica, misadventures ensue. It’s as if god parted the hipster heavens and dropped this down on us: it comes with a reggae-infused soundtrack (plus film appearances) by MGMT, Santigold, Yeasayer and Suckers, among others, and won some award at the Los Angeles Film Festival, so it’s got that going for it too.
