With the fall theater season in more than full swing, and some really incredible (and proportionately priced) shows opening this week and next, there’s no better time to overdose on Off Broadway theater thanks to the annual 20at20 promotion. Today through September 19, tickets to 20 Off Broadway shows will go for $20 starting 20 minutes before showtime (unless, of course, that performance is sold out). The slate of shows includes some not-so-great fare (I’m looking at you, Naked Boys Singing!) and a few really great-looking shows, including the Sarah Ruhl-adapted version of Virginia Woolf’s Orlando at Classic Stage, LES historical domestic drama Now Circa Then at Ars Nova, and hat-swapping detective adventure The 39 Steps.
