What the hell? Our fair city has a bona fide sheriff (with a badge and everything!). And yes, there’s a new sheriff in town.

His name is Edward A. Domenech and he’s relocating from his law enforcement job in DC. So yeah, New York City Sheriff: responsibilities include tracking down deadbeat dads, busting up illegal cigarette rings and, according to original city charters dating from the 17th century, overseeing rescue operations in the event of a shipwreck. And in what seems straight from a Coen brothers screenplay, Domenech (and his wife) will be staying in his childhood bedroom at his parents’ house in Queens (until he can find an apartment).

WELCOME, SHERIFF DOMENECH. Also, DRAW!
