You may remember Allo Darlin’ from cracking the top 10 on our Best Albums of 2010 list, or maybe when Conklin got all weak in the knees writing about them here, or when I gushed about their show at The Rock Shop (we’re clearly not alone in our love for them either). Still, the twee-but-not-trite pop band has yet to gain the same indie-household name recognition as their peers — the Belle & Sebastians, the She & Hims, the Camera Obscuras — but hopefully this will start to change soon. As mentioned on their web site yesterday, they’ll be heading into the studio to record a new album in April, again working with producer Simon Trought, who contributed to the crystal clear, no-frills sound of their debut. Better yet, you’ll be able to hear some of the new material when they make a stop at Mercury Lounge on June 8. Until then, thanks to BrooklynVegan for drawing our attention to the video above because, holy smokes, listen to it. There’s whistling.
