About two and a half years since the release of their much acclaimed, Pazz and Jop-topping 2008 album Dear Science, OG Brooklyn indie-rock band TV on the Radio are back. Or, they will be soon, anyway: word came yesterday, via the band’s website, that their fourth proper studio album, Nine Types of Light, will be released this spring. The band has also announced an April 13th show at Radio City Music Hall, because long gone are the days when your favorite bands played Music Hall or whatever, apparently.

In the time they’ve been gone, guitarist Kyp Malone released an album and performed as Rain Machine, while singer Tunde Adebimpe collaborated with Massive Attack, and multi-instrumentalist Davie Sitek produced albums by artists like Holly MIranda, Wale and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Also during that time? Everyone in Brooklyn discovered reverb and for some reason all the drummers started standing up.
