Last week Vandalog‘s RJ Rushmore and Keith Schweitzer and Mike Glatzer of M.A.N.Y. took over an Upper West Side apartment for a few days between tenants and curated Up Close and Personal, an exhibition of small works by a very impressive set of street artists. The focused format made for many beautiful pieces and some completely unrecognizable work. The show closed yesterday, but here are photos of a tiny portion of the 36 pieces on view.
There are more photos of the superb show over at Vandalog and on M.A.N.Y.‘s site.
What an inventive use of an empty Upper West Side apartment. For artists who lack exhibit space, this is an interesting and inexpensive way to host one’s own show. Props to Rushmore, Schweitzer and Glatzer for organizing what appears to have been a very successful showing!.
