Only one of the four miracle goose babies born in Prospect Park earlier last month remains, the Brooklyn Paper reports. The other two were presumed dead two weeks ago. Though it had few details as of yesterday, the paper said its goose monitors found the parents and just one gosling near the Vanderbilt entrance to the park. Commenters at the site suggest blame could belong to the dog hired to chase the geese around, snapping turtles, or birds of prey. Others say that geese born after their eggs were coated in oil to suffocate them—possibly leaving the animals mentally disabled—are not likely victims of nature, but of man.
