Fleet Foxes Cover Whitney Houston, Prove They Can Turn Anything into a Campfire Singalong

**Do you think it started off as a dare? Fleet Foxes posted a cover of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” to their tumblr this morning. It sounds nothing like Whitney Houston—more like Fleet Foxes came home one night, melancholy and drunk, (because, come on, Fleet Foxes obviously all live in a communal log cabin decorated with antlers and stuffed mongooses), and on a whim decided to record a karaoke favorite in the bathtub. So, hey! Check out this Whitney Houston cover that sounds nothing like Whitney Houston, and all like a campfire singalong with five white guys. That’s actually quite an accomplishment, if you think about it.

**Retracted: Fleet Foxes took to Twitter and said they did NOT do this cover. We apologize for the false information and any incorrect assumptions about the band. We were wrong. Still, whoever did this has an awfully good Fleet Foxes impression.

  • Sorry dude, but you really need to learn how to research… look at fleet foxes’ twitter… and it was a NEW tumblr.

  • The group that did the cover is Fleet Foxes Sing, a cover band that sings in the style of Fleet Foxes. They have covered dozens of songs from TLC to Vampire Weekend to Feist.
