Are you planning a BBQ, kid’s birthday party, croquet tournament, or DIY concert series, but having difficulties securing a suitable outdoor space? Consider renting the Timeshare Backyard, a formerly vacant, now verdant lot at 145 Ludlow Street (between Rivington and Stanton streets) that’s available by the hour.
The yard not only features a quaint white picket fence around its perimeter, but a host of childhood-appropriate activities available to renters according to creator The Participation Agency’s website. They include: a slip-n-slide, hula hoops, a trampoline, popsicles, super soakers, a single pogo stick, and more. Among the more “adult” options are kegs, BBQ, a beer pong table and “high quality meats selection,” which we assume is code for a male escort service.
As Bowery Boogie notes, Cake Shop is directly across the street and has booked the space for a private launch party on its first night, August 11. Thereafter, however, the rates look like so: $50/hour, with a maximum capacity of 30; add a slip-n-slide for $100; a kiddie pool for $200; a fully equipped grill with supplies for 10 will cost $150; and a live band will play for $5,000 (plus permits).
If you’re interested, wealthy, and really can’t bear to just party in a public park, make a reservation today.
