A popular Williamsburg concert series will be moving to a former parking lot this summer. The Open Space Alliance, which helped organize the Pool Parties at McCarren Park and then the waterfront concerts in East River State Park, will now hold its summer concert series at 50 Kent Avenue, between N. 11th and N. 12th streets—up the road from the old spot, down the block from the Brooklyn Brewery. “This is a tremendously exciting opportunity to turn a parking lot into an interim park—to provide public access, recreation, and green North Brooklyn,” the group announced in a press release.
To involve “all the creativity that our neighborhood is known for” in the relocation, the group will hold a design contest for the interim park. More details here.
