Hope you’re rested up, because Day 2 of Northside Film starts this evening. Plus, Led Er Est of local label Sacred Bones will be DJing downstairs at Nitehawk Cinema from 9-11. Here are but a few of tonight’s highlights, curated by our very own, much beloved film editor Mark Asch. For badge and ticketing information, head here!

Here’s a look at our L Mag picks:

Flooding with Love for the Kid (dir. Zachary Oberzan)
DIY Special Presentation
7:15pm – 9:15pm @ Nitehawk Cinema (136 Metropolitan Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11249)

This rarely screened film was adapted, directed, filmed, acted, designed, and edited by just one man. Shot entirely for $96 in a 220 square-foot studio apartment in Manhattan, Zachary Oberzan plays two dozen characters in this adaptation of First Blood, the novel that introduced the world to Rambo.

Creative Nonfiction (dir. Lena Dunham)
Presented by The L Magazine
8:10pm – 9:10pm @ Nitehawk Cinema (136 Metropolitan Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11249)

Don’t miss the chance to see the creator of the HBO series Girls (and L Magazine cover star) Lena Dunham‘s first full length feature (yes, even before Tiny Furniture).

Lefty Loosey Righty Tighty (dir: James Yaegashi)
Northside DIY Competition Feature
Tuesday June 19, 2012 5:05pm – 6:35pm @ Nitehawk Cinema (136 Metropolitan Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11249)

Oh My Rockness founder Patrick McNamara wrote this story of Micheal, a former indie rocker and new dad, and Franklin, a recently divorced college professor. Theirs is a story of friends who are too old to be young, and too young to be old.

Take This Waltz (dir: Sarah Polley)
Presented by Magnolia Films
Tuesday June 19, 2012 9:55pm – 12:00pm @ Nitehawk Cinema (136 Metropolitan Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11249)

Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, and Sarah Silverman star in this story of a love triangle set during a sweltering Toronto summer.
