This Wednesday evening, July 8th, join 5,000 of your closest friends and neighbors for the first SummerScreen movie of the year, Cruel Intentions. That’s right, we’re kicking off the summer with your favorite teenaged adaptation of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, not to mention the kissing scene that jump started a million adolescent libidos circa 1999. Steamy!
This year, we’re excited to have Todd P, the veritable godfather of Brooklyn’s DIY scene, curating this summer’s musical selections on behalf of Showpaper. On Wednesday, we’ll start the night off with sets from the sweetly psychedelic Colin L. Orchestra and Northside-alumni Indian Jewelry.
And, starting this year, you can purchase VIP tickets to SummerScreen! Those will get you a cozy beach blanket up front & center, a dinner coupon for any of our food vendors, beer or wine drink tickets, a dessert from CoolHaus and an invitation to an exclusive after party across the street on the King & Grove roofdeck!
You can find us, as always, at McCarren Park on the corner of Bedford Ave. and N. 12 Street, right in front of the tennis courts. Doors to the park will open at 6, bands will begin at 6:30, and we’ll have the opening credits rolling by 8:15. And don’t forget to come hungry! Our friends at V Spot, Coolhaus, Cemitas, Little Muenster, Brooklyn Bangers and Pizza Moto will be ready and waiting to serve up meals all night long.
So dust off your cableknit sweater and/or koala t-shirt and join us Wednesday evening!
