You may know that country music superstar Waylon Jennings got his start playing bass for Buddy Holly. He would have been killed in the plane crash, too, had he not given his seat to an ill J.P. Richarsdon (aka The Big Bopper). Buddy and Waylon (can we call them Baylon? Wuddy?) only worked together for a few months before the crash, but Buddy had a huge influence on the young and inexperienced Waylon. He orchestrated Waylon’s first recording contract and played bass on Waylon’s first single. Still, the cutest memento from the short-lived but meaningful bromance is this photobooth photo from 1959. God, Waylon Jenning’s was hot. Does anyone else feel like writing fan fic? [photo]
