Carroll Gardens: Buttermilk Channel
Runner Up: Prime Meats
New American restaurants tend to revamp their menus as often as they change out their silverware, so it’s refreshing that delicious dishes like duck meatloaf, hamwrapped brook trout, and fried chicken with cheddar waffles are reliable BC mainstays.

Roberta’s is actually in Williamsburg.
Scalino deserves a mention.
Technically, Roberta’s is three short blocks from the northern boundary of Bushwick, but the boundary is a matter of convention — it’s unofficial — and everyone, including residents, think of the Bogart Street arts strip, which Roberta’s is on, as part of Bushwick.
Seriously.. ENOUGH with Franny’s! It’s not even good!
no love for Bedstuy?!?
yeah, three short blocks and flushing ave … no one, including residents, thought of that as bushwick until they built their little “arts strip” and decided it would sound cooler if they told their friends it was bushwick (edgy!)
and seriously, no love for bed stuy?
Cochinita is definitely a close 2nd in Clinton Hill. Totally different categories though.
What about BK Heights? Yea, most places are TERRIBLE, but there has been some progress worth noting the past couple years….Colonie? Jack the Horse? No love?
um, Vinegar Hill House is NOT in DUMBO. it’s in Vinegar Hill. For a publication that has their offices in DUMBO, I would expect this to be more accurate.
This list is ass, I can find better restaurants outside of Hipsterville (Williamsburg, DUMBO, Boreum Hill, Vingear Hill).
Tell the New York Times. This is how city neighborhoods get and change their names, by people deciding where they begin and end and what they’re called. There’s no naming commission. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/08/fashion/…
Roberta’s didn’t “single-handedly” transform the Morgan stop you goddamn fool. Shit was there for years before they opened. You’re a clown.
