Ryan Naideau of Nude Beach

What are your five favorite albums released this year?
The Men – Open Your Heart
Hank Wood & The Hammerheads – Go Home
Sad Boys – Demo
Toys That Kill – Fambly 42
Shoes – Black Vinyl Shoes/Pre-Tense/One in Versailles (reissues on Numero Group)

How about the best show you saw and/or played in?
We covered a lot of territory this year. Played a killer show in Oxford, Mississippi at a new club they opened up, as well as their local record shop The End of All Music; Memphis, Tennessee was great; a couple shows in Canada stand out.

Other highlights include playing a handful of shows with The Men, touring with Roky Erickson, gigs with Milk Music, Huff Stuff Magazine, Dogjaw, Zachary Cale, Vacation, Toys That Kill, Future Virgins, Neon Piss, M Women, Naomi Punk. The list goes on and on…

Any local band you think was deserving of more attention this year?
Definitely Zachary Cale & The Rain Band. He’s a great songwriter that keeps quietly churning out awesome records.

Who’s a band to look out for next year, you think?
Definitely try to catch Total Control from Australia if they come out here again. They keep getting better and better.

Band you’d most like to see reunite in 2013?
No more reunions.

What’s on the agenda for Nude Beach next year?
Hopefully we’ll make it out to Europe, record a new album, and do another big tour or two.

Any New Year’s resolutions?
Keep on rockin’ in the free world.
