With the announcement of Brooklyn’s own Bill DeBlasio as the new mayor, business leaders throughout the borough are wondering how their offices will be affected by the city’s new government. With Brooklyn already established as one of the country’s fastest-growing entrepreneurial hubs, Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is starting the discussion with a meeting of Brooklyn’s foremost business minds.

The event will kick off the first night of the 15-day “Talking Transition” conference held in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Visitors will be able to stroll down Innovation Alley before the panel and experience a “Makers’ demo” featuring the winners of the first ever “Made in Brooklyn” awards. The event will also be packed full of demonstrations, samples, hardware, furniture, apps, and more.

Then representatives of MakerBot, FCS Modular, Terreform ONE, Lumi Solair, Industry City Distillery and NYU Polytechnic, with special remarks by Northside Media Group’s own president, Daniel Stedman. “Brooklyn is booming and it is critical to introduce policies that support ‘makers’ who are spurring job and economic growth throughout New York City,” Carlo A. Scissura, President & CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, said of the event. “People need to come out and make their voices heard as well as experience what is going on in Brooklyn.” So go experience Brooklyn entrepreneurship, support local businesses, and make sure attend the after party with a local Brooklyn DJ!
